De los 8 casos sospechosos de la enfermedad, 7 ya fueron descartados y 1 sigue en estudio. El Ministro de Salud reiteró la importancia de unificar esfuerzos para evitar una posible epidemia.
El Gobierno Nacional, a través del Ministerio de Salud, busca optimizar los mecanismos de prevención y acción contra el virus. Para ello, se articularon alianzas estratégicas con organismos del Estado y de la región, de manera a hacer frente a esta enfermedad.
En ese sentido, el ministro de Salud Julio Mazzoleni refirió esta semana que los delineamientos contra el coronavirus ya fueron enmarcados desde enero, en donde se activaron los protocolos pertinentes en los aeropuertos, en migraciones y en los hospitales de referencia.
“Hoy tenemos un delineamiento para los casos de coronavirus. El Paraguay había declarado alerta epidemiológica el 23 de enero, una semana antes que la Organización Mundial de la Salud. Es importante también que sepan que nuestro país fue uno de los primeros de América Latina en contar con las pruebas laboratoriales para la detección de este virus”, resaltó el titular de la cartera de salud Julio Mazzoleni.
Reiteró que Paraguay no cuenta con casos confirmados de coronavirus. El número de casos sospechosos se mantiene en 8, de los cuales 7 fueron descartados por laboratorio, y uno sigue en estudio. Asimismo, mencionó que 70 personas están siendo monitoreadas sin ningún síntoma.
Insistió que las principales medidas de prevención son el lavado de manos, el uso correcto del codo para toser y estornudar, el uso de tapabocas exclusivamente para las personas que tienen síntomas y la consulta médica en caso de tener síntomas respiratorios.
